Adding a User to the Broker Portal

Job Aid: How to Add a New User to the Broker Portal

Follow these easy steps to add a new user. Please read through all steps prior to beginning, as once a user has been added you will need to enter a support request to remove them.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure your account has the permissions needed to add new users.

  • Be sure to have the correct email address for the new user. This will serve as their user name, and a link to activate their account will be sent to that address.


Instructions

1. Open the User Manager Screen

  • Log into the Broker Portal.

  • From the Navigation Bar module drop-down, select Administration.

Is the user already listed? Check by typing the user email address into the search panel and click “Search”. If it is found, you can assign them to the desired broker account by clicking on the icon and following step 3 below.

  • In the page header, click Add User in the upper right corner.

2. Enter User Details

  • Enter the new user’s:

    • Last Name

    • First Name

    • Email Address

  • (Optional) Enter a Phone Number.

3. Associate Broker Accounts

  • In the Account Selector, choose the Broker Account(s) for the new user. You must associate at least one broker account in order to add a user.

  • To add more than one account, click +Additional Account.

You can only associate users with Broker Accounts that you are already associated with. To associate a user with a different account, contact that broker or their administrative user to assist.

4. Assign Permissions and Complete the Process

  • Review the list of default permissions.

  • Add or remove permissions as needed.

You can use the checkbox at the top of the permission to either assign all permissions to a user or remove all permissions from a user.

  • Click Add.

  • The new user will receive an email with an activation link to enable their account.

  • In the Administration user list, the status of the new user will be “pending”. Once they activate their account, it will change to “Active”.


Tips

  • You can only associate users with Broker Accounts that you are already associated with.

  • If the needed Broker Account does not appear, contact that broker to either:

    • Have yourself associated with the account, or

    • Have their administrator add the new user.
