Overview

To improve the filing experience and minimize the number of flings that must be flagged by the SLA and corrected by filers, the new Broker Portal has improved data validation and rules. Below you can find which fields are required prior to saving a draft transaction, as well as the validations that are performed when a filer attempts to submit a filing.

Validation rules vary by transaction type:

Save Validation

The user will not be able to save a transaction as a draft, or at any point after the initial save, unless the following fields are populated:

  1. Broker Account

  2. Transaction Type.

  3. Policy Number

  4. Insured

Input Limitation

Certain fields may be locked depending on the transaction type. This table lists the fields and the limits upon them, and the applicable transaction types.

This is determined prior to the Fling screen opening and cannot be edited on the screen.

Broker Account

Restricted to broker accounts that the user has filing permission for.

These are calculated by the system at save or submit.

Late Filing Fee

This is automatically added when the Broker Received Date is more than 30 days prior to the date when the filing is submitted.

Submit Validation

The user will not be able to submit a transaction unless all the following conditions are satisfied. Fields that fail validation will be outlined in red with an explanation of what the validation error is displayed.
