Troubleshooting: Microdeposit verification attempts exceeded

Troubleshooting: Microdeposit verification attempts exceeded

 Problem

A payment fails with the message, “Microdeposit verification attempts exceeded”.

 Solution

If you choose to use the microdeposit method of verification rather that searching for your bank and then logging in to instantly validate the bank account, you only have 3 attempts to enter the verification code asked for. If you receive the error message above:

  1. Before attempting to submit the payment again, ensure that either you have access to bank activity or have spoken with someone who does so that the microdeposit information requested can be found.

  2. Contact stripe support directly. This link will take you to information on microdeposit verification, as well as how to contact Stripe to get that account unblocked: https://support.stripe.com/questions/verify-a-new-ach-direct-debit-customer-using-micro-deposits

  3. Once Stripe has unlocked the account, return to the Broker Portal and submit the payment again.

    1. If microdeposit verification is going required, you will see a link “Action Needed” in the lower left of the Invoice screen--this link will let you know what information from the microdeposit transactions will be required for verification.

    2. An email also is sent to the email address used for the payment with the same information as above.

  • If you are able to locate your bank via the search option on the payment screen, you can avoid microdeposit verification entirely.

  • Be sure to save your payment information by checking the box on the payment screen. Once you have saved a method, then any future payments for that broker account using that method will not require additional verification activity.
